Generally I wake up each morning disappointed, sometimes its because I'm not next to Angelina Jolie, sometimes its because I'm not in a 24 bedroom manison (with Angelina Jolie) or sometime its just not the simple pleasure of a bacon butty (served by Angelina Jolie).

However, today hit a new low.  Today I woke up to the new version of 'Do They Know Its Christmas' - the charity song written by the talent capped Geldof.  It was lame, dull and ultimately crap.

Now don't get me wrong I'm all for charity and do try to do my bit each year for an appropriate charity.  Yes, the plight of certain Africa nations and the starving nations is one that should be addressed - but the last thing I want to see on Christmas Day whilst eating my Christmas Turkey is a load of straving people who quite frankly can't be bothered to brush flys off their faces (and do they look like they are enjoying the food we send them).  More importantly, I really don't want to be watching a load of self-satisified *stars* crooning absolute garbage.

I felt mentally abused by this rendition and for a variety of reasons.  Firstly, why the rapping by Dizzy Rascal - completely out of place.  Secondly, the fabled Bono redoes his famous two lines - but this time in the style of a washed Karaoke singer who is trying too hard.  And finally, Dido *

You can argue that my number of Number One's isn't that great (No Freddie, Silhouetto sounds much better) - but I don't inflate the egos of these talentness muppets and will simply chuck a fiver at the nearest African Aid box so I can watch more valuable things on TV like repeats of Porridge.

* - The Dodo died, Dodi died, Di died and Dando died - you really cannot hold too much hope for her.
