I spent this morning catching up on posts at vbCity. Managed to progress a few along without definitely solving any.

Then off to Millenium Park, which hosts Colombo's only 10 pin bowling alley. I managed scores of 112, 92 & 115, which considering I haven't played in a few months was reasonable - 150 is an exceptional score for me even when I'm in the zone ;-). Millenium Park is a pretty reasonable bowling alley and it cost us about 1400 rupees (£7.50) for my wife and myself to have 3 games each. We resolved to start going regularly on a Sunday again but whether we shall keep to our resolve remains to be seen. We popped into the pub at Millenium park for a swift beer and then went back to the Cricket Club Cafe in anticipation (at least by me) of watching England vs South Africa play the 3rd day of the 5th test match. For some reason Australia were on playing to an empty bar but I was promised England would be on in half an hour or so (90 minutes allowing for Sri Lanka time keeping) so we went back up to our apartment. (we live in an apartment directly overlooking the Cricket Club Cafe at St. James) I'll nip down in a few minutes and see if England can salvage their innings. They appear to be around 50-3 :(

We're having a pretty big thnderstorm as I write this. A lot of rain, thunder, lightning and winds strong enough to decsimate our apartment (I have just closed all the windows and doors to the balconies). Helen, my wife, has succumbed to the 3 coins stout (7.5%) and fallen asleep so I'll have to sneak out down to the CCC for a couple of Lion Lagers and hopefully a couple of hours of good cricket ;-)
