Almost wanted to say Captain's Log in the title of the post but managed to contain the Trekkie in me ;-)
I've spent all day on the computer :) Performed some mundane tasks like tidying up my email address book, chasing up the other vbCity Leaders via email to ask for the final votes for January's .NET Fella award to be cast, adding another category to my blog site (Work) and progressing a few more blog posts that are still not ready to get posted, reading up on all (well OK almost all) the RSS feeds I subscribe too and catching up on and solving a few posts at vbCity which brings me neatly onto my next topic:
Serge has, inspirationally, added an new forum to vbCity called Introduce Yourself. It has proved very popular and I thought it was about time I added an entry to it so I knocked up, Shandy aka Andrew Sutton. I found the forum a very interesting read to gain a bit more insight into some of the posters at vbCity, some of which I've known for several years without knowing that much about them.
Thanks to Garf for emailing me the link Mordor. Brought a smile to my face.
Tonight my wife has decided that we are going to possibly our favourite restaurant in Colombo, Sakura's. Before I came to Colombo I had only eaten Japanese food twice in my life, not because I didn't like it but because it does tend to be a bit pricey in the UK and Japanese restaurants aren't that common. Sakura's is just a short walk (10 minutes) away from where we live, situated on a Rheinland Place, just off Galle Road right by the McDonald's.
Since our friend's Peter & Carol introduced us to it we have been at least once a month (and twice this month already). We find we can have a meal for two with beers for less than £10 :) And my wife now has a membership card that gives us a discout too. They even do takeaway and I can heartily recommend the business man's lunch. I'm a huge Sushi fan, but my wife won't touch Sushi, she prefers the battered chicken, soup and rice. In fact when we went on holiday to Thailand at xMAS I had sushi practically everyday! I can have it for breakfast, lunch or dinner :)
As there is only one room we haven't eaten in yet we are going to see if we can get into that one tonight. It's one with low tables where you have to sit on the floor so I've been performing limbering up exercises all afternoon in preparation for sitting cross legged on the floor for an hour or so (I'm no spring chicken any more). Not having eaten anything all day I am more than ready.
Blimey - just seen the time. I'll be in trouble. We're supposed to be going out in 15 minutes and I haven't showered or anything yet :(
