My name is Andrew Sutton, aka Shandy.

I am currently living and working in the UK as a software developer. This blog contains mainly IT related issues.

I was a Microsoft VB MVP for a couple of years (Apr 2004-Mar 2006) and was a vbCityLeader between April 2003 and June 2007.

If you are looking for my Sri Lanka or Morocco experiences check out Shandy's Sri Lanka Blog or Shandy's Morocco Blog. My personal (Non IT) blog is now at Shandy's Place

HIGH SCORE TONIGHT. Well OK it was only 166 but it was a high score that was mine ;-) The only problem was it was followed 81. I have no idea where that came from and no excuses. I was quite simply crap. That score included a strike & some spares to give you an indication how many 0 score balls I sent down :( Things didn't improve too much with scores 97, 96 until the alcohol finally kicked in and I got 104 & 103 with a spare on the last ball and my wife decided to bowl it for me by mistake. So how can I get 166 & then 81? It's just unbelieveable.

Anyway there is talk of a Sri Lanka MVP vs Micrsoft 10 pin bowling match tomorrow night, after the monthly .NET meeting. And after seeing the scores from the last 2 matches, which I missed, if the 166 Shandy turns up its game set and match. Mind you if the 81 Shandy turns up likewise :(

We tried the food at EP and there is quite a choice. Tonight we opted for Prawnies and I had traditional fish and chips. Quite where they were traditional I have no idea ;-) The fish was seer fish and akin to Plaice in the UK and the chips were french fries but quite enjoyable none the less. My wife had the Seafood Mixed Rice, asked for it non spicey and got it non spicey if you ask me and highly spiced if you ask her ;-) For 400 rupees I wasn't complaining. However the piece de resistance was the Advocado juice from Roots. I have never even seen Advocado juice before never mind tasted it and now I know why :) It tastes almost exactly like I thought it would. Take that as you will.

We even got back from EP to our apartment at St. James without arguing about the price (which I think disapointed my wife as she had wound herself right up for it). 200 rupees is our going rate at that time of night but sometimes it starts anywhere from 1000 rupees.
