My name is Andrew Sutton, aka Shandy.

I am currently living and working in the UK as a software developer. This blog contains mainly IT related issues.

I was a Microsoft VB MVP for a couple of years (Apr 2004-Mar 2006) and was a vbCityLeader between April 2003 and June 2007.

If you are looking for my Sri Lanka or Morocco experiences check out Shandy's Sri Lanka Blog or Shandy's Morocco Blog. My personal (Non IT) blog is now at Shandy's Place

Thanks to the post Watching Webcasts off line at Jinath Blog I realised I had and could watch webcasts from my MSDN DVDs on the journey to and from work in the car. Way to go! Kills almost 3 hours of time usefully each day. I now have over 3 gig of webcasts copied onto my laptop's hard disk. Should keep me going for a while :)

Updated my MVP Profile today. My MVP award runs out in the next few weeks and wanted to make sure I included all the stuff I had done in the last 12 months within the profile when I am re-evaluated for the award. Last year I got my MVP award purely for the work I did at vbCity, answering questions on the forums but since then I have also contributed to the vbCity Newsletter and written my own NET Windows Forms Articles and been a reasonably regular attendee at the Colombo .NET User Group

In case you're wondering the public view of my MVP profile is much more restricted than the view other MVPs and Microsoft get to see.

Anyway if I don't get MVP status again I'll look back at a great year during which I've had been a member of the MVP program. I've met a great many interesting people and realised how little I know about developing software compared with some of the other MVPs. But I'll keep my fingers crossed in the hope I may get the award again ;-)
