My name is Andrew Sutton, aka Shandy.

I am currently living and working in the UK within the garment industry as an IT specialist. This blog contains mainly IT related issues.

I was a Microsoft VB MVP for a couple of years (Apr 2004-Mar 2006) and was a vbCityLeader between April 2003 and June 2007.

If you are looking for my Sri Lanka or Morocco experiences check out Shandy's Sri Lanka Blog or Shandy's Morocco Blog. My personal (Non IT) blog is now at Shandy's Place

I got my MVP Logo Kit through via email today. Measuring in at 3.25Meg it contained png, wmf, ps formats for the 6 different variations on the logos (black & white, blue and white, colour in both vertical and horizontal formats). I have uploaded all the available images in my MVP Gallery if anyone is interested. Needless to say I may have had to break the usage guidelines in doing so as my blog doesn't recognise png files :( I had to convert them all to JPG. well it was either that or I used the old logo ;-) Why can't life be simple?

Like or dislike the new logo is irrelevant to me. I'm using it. Not that I use it anywhere else other than on my blog.

Since the beginning of June I have noticed a lot of Pingback/Trackbacks have appeared in the Feedback area of my blog. My understanding is that these are simply links on another web page to one of my blog web pages. I have always had the odd one or two but suddenly I was getting 20 or 30 a day and all from on-line betting web sites. I have no idea why they are appearing or what purpose they serve. See las vegas slot machine for an example of one such link. Needless to say there is no link to my blog on the web page in question. If anyone has any ideas why they appear let me know! They are a nuisance because they clog up the feedback section of my blog where I can view the latest comments and ping/track backs to see who is linking to my blog.
