I went random browsing on the internet the other night and saw some interesting stats on broadband around the world.
For instance, did you know that China has the largest number (12.7 million) of ADSL lines in the world? The only thing is, because the population is so huge it only accounts for 1% of the population of that country.
The Asia-Pacific region accounts for almost 54% of the worlds broadband connections.
South Korea has the highest penetration of broadband in the world at 24% of the population.
The 2 cable companies in the UK have got 38% of the broadband market with the other 62% going mainly to BT but they only cover about 20% of the country. 10% of the UK is considered unviable for ADSL.
The US has the largest number of cable broadband users in the world.
