There is now an unoffical Tour of Britain website - please visit it now.
I notice from the Campaign for an English Parliament NewsBlog that the upcoming Tour of Britain cycling event has adopted an anti-English stance. There is a Scottish, Welsh, Irish and British team but no English team. One commentator on the Campaign for an English Parliament NewsBlog informs us that all the British riders are in fact English but still they insist on calling it Team Great Britain.
I have emailed all the English sponsors along with the Tour of Britain organisers to express my disgust in their support of an event that discriminates against English people ...
The recipients of this email are all English corporate sponsors of the Tour of Britain.
I wish to express my disappointment at the English sponsors of the Tour of Britain in light of the absence of an English team. There is a Scottish, Welsh, Irish and British team but no English team. I believe that all the British riders are English anyway - with a Scottish, Welsh and Irish team I can't see how they could be anything but. So, the question is, why isn't there a Team England?
This is quite obviously yet another example of blatant discrimination against English people. The fact that it is sponsored by English organisations and cities is something I find particularly disturbing. I will be helping publicise this disgusting state of affairs via my blog and in any other way I can. I urge you to withdraw your support until there is an English team.

I urge all English people to boycott this event unless they either rename the British team as the English team or introduce an English team. You may also want to email the organisers and sponsors of the event ...

If you are a resident of any of the cities sponsoring the eent, please email your city council or speak to your MP as well. Remember, it's your money that is going into funding an event that doesn't even recognise the existence of your country.
